The Client
An international healthcare provider of world class private hospitals and care. They are the largest provider of critical care beds; provide state of art treatments and have a workforce of some 4500.
Challenge
The compliance team deal with all tasks relating to recruitment of clinical and non-clinical staff. A key part of their role is to conduct the correct pre-employment checks to ensure that all staff have
the right to work in the UK and the medical profession.
The challenge was to deliver ‘professional updates’ in;
- Disclosure and Barring Service
- Identity Verification and Right to Work
- References
- Professional Registration and Qualification
- Work Health Assessments
These are typically dry, factual, technical topics and they needed to be delivered in an informative, engaging and FUN way.
They wanted to undertake training in the format of a ‘professional update’ where they could look in detail at the practices and processes they do on a daily basis and highlight any areas that could be tightened up or reinforced.
The Solution
A two-day bespoke workshop which was highly interactive and encompassed a mix of presentations, case studies, problem scenarios, group discussions, and reflective practice. The team were encouraged to examine what influences their practice, how they add value to the service and how they can make areas of their work better by questioning the assumptions that govern their working practices.
The Outcome
The course feedback was fantastic. When rating various aspects of the training on scales of poor to excellent, 60% rated the presentation as excellent and 30% as very good. On the overall satisfaction with the course, 70% rated it as excellent and 30% rated it as very good.
Delegates were provided sets of words to describe the day, the most popular words used were informative, relevant and useful.
