Apprenticeships

Taking on an apprentice is a cost-effective way to address skills shortage areas within your business. Young people are the future and it is also a way to strengthen your brand whilst training and developing a young person to become your most desirable employee.

At Lotus HR we streamline the process for employers, minimising any perceived ‘hassle’. You let us know the position(s) you have and we will advertise, shortlist and organise interviews taking into consideration skill level, personality and your business culture.

You then choose right apprentice for your business. We work with a wide range of training providers and we will support you every step of the way, acting as a liaison between you, your apprentice and the training organisation. You may be eligible for an apprenticeship grant to use towards the cost of the recruiting the apprentice. The grant applies to small and medium-sized businesses hiring their first apprentice (or their first for at least 12 months) aged 16-24 and is currently £1500.

You are required to pay your apprentice a suitable wage. We recommend £4.20 per hour to ensure you attract good calibre applicants for your post. The apprentice will work in the business for four days and have one day to do their off-the-job training.

Contact us and we’ll take care of the rest.
